Over the past 20 years as a dentist, I’ve seen my patients struggle with the same oral health issues over and over again — cavities, tartar buildup, bleeding gums, bad breath, and tooth sensitivity.

Many of them brushed at least twice a day, flossed regularly, and even used expensive mouthwashes, yet these problems kept coming back, affecting their self-esteem and quality of life.

For decades, dentistry has promoted prevention through brushing and flossing, often supported by mouthwashes that claim to kill 99.9% of bacteriaIn theory, it seemed like the perfect solution, since bacteria are responsible for most oral diseases.

However, in my clinical practice, I noticed that even those who carefully followed an oral care routine still came back to my office with the same recurring issues.

That’s why I began researching and looking for a new prevention strategy that could truly help my patients restore their confidence and maintain a healthier smile.

In early 2022, I came across newly published scientific studies that completely changed the way we think about oral health: not all bacteria are harmful. In fact, some play a vital role in protecting our teeth and gums.

The true solution is not to eliminate all of them, but to restore balance by repopulating the mouth with beneficial bacteria. These good bacteria naturally keep harmful ones under control, stopping their growth and preventing them from taking over.

This discovery opened the door to a new approach in dentistry: oral probiotics. Instead of trying to sterilize the mouth, probiotics work by supporting and increasing the good bacteria that naturally defend against cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.

Which is why, as a dentist always researching innovative treatments, I immediately began looking for an effective product that could truly help my patients.

That same year, ProDentim was released as one of the first oral probiotics designed specifically for oral health.

Since its launch in 2022, I’ve been testing it in my clinical practice as part of a modern prevention strategy (brushing + flossing + oral probiotic), and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the results I’ve observed in my patients.

With that background in mind, and by the invitation of the Heal Review team, here’s my professional analysis of ProDentim:
